The Internet and Pride

I have come across this quote from John Piper on several sites over recent days.  I am always taken with the succinct way Piper can capture a ever-growing tide in our culture.  He certainly does that with this one sentence:

“The Internet world we live in today is awash in narcissism and vanity, with some people taking their clothes off literally, because exposure gives them a rush, and others doing it spiritually—because the addicting power of talking about yourself, where anyone in the world can read it, is overpowering.”

I wrote some thoughts on this and decided to delete them.  The words above are convicting enough.
